Client Overview: Our client is a luxury global retailer.

This role is hybrid in Whippany, New Jersey.

Role Overview: The Payroll Administrator will oversee the full payroll lifecycle for multiple payroll schedules, ensuring payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. In addition to payroll execution, this position supports leave administration, retirement contributions, payroll reporting, and employee inquiries while partnering closely with HR and Time & Attendance teams.

Payroll Administrator Responsibilities:

  • Execute end-to-end payroll processing for weekly, biweekly, monthly, and commission payrolls.
  • Manage day-to-day payroll operations, including payroll inbox requests, employee support tickets, termination payments, and special payroll runs.
  • Administer payroll-related transactions involving leaves of absence, disability programs, wage garnishments, employment verifications, and other payroll adjustments.
  • Partner with the Time & Attendance team to review, validate, and reconcile employee time data prior to payroll processing.
  • Upload and maintain payroll data through system file imports while ensuring data integrity.
  • Prepare, transmit, and reconcile direct deposit files, resolving banking or payment issues as needed.
  • Process retirement plan deductions and payroll funding activities.
  • Review payroll reports, identify discrepancies, and perform audits to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Assist employees with payroll self-service tools, including tax withholding elections and direct deposit enrollment.
  • Investigate payroll questions and work collaboratively with managers, HR, and other internal teams to resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records while supporting compliance with company policies and payroll regulations.

Payroll Administrator Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience administering payroll in a high-volume environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle HCM Payroll.
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll processes and payroll software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Flexible and adaptable in supporting payroll cycles and business needs.
