Job description

PR Beauty Manager (Agency)

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

Our client, a leading communications and brand marketing agency within the beauty, wellness, and lifestyle industry, is seeking an experienced PR Manager to join its New York team. This role will lead integrated public relations and influencer initiatives for a portfolio of beauty-focused brands, developing thoughtful campaigns that build visibility, credibility, and audience engagement.

The ideal candidate brings strong media instincts, established relationships across editorial and creator communities, and a proactive, collaborative approach to managing multiple accounts. You will partner with senior leadership, guide junior team members, and help deliver standout launches, events, and earned-media programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day public relations strategy and execution across a portfolio of beauty and wellness accounts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with editors, journalists, creators, talent representatives, and industry partners.
  • Develop compelling press materials, including media pitches, press releases, messaging documents, briefing materials, fact sheets, and executive talking points.
  • Secure meaningful earned-media coverage and identify timely storytelling opportunities across beauty, lifestyle, culture, and business outlets.
  • Create and manage influencer programs spanning organic seeding, paid partnerships, mailers, collaborations, and event integrations.
  • Support contract coordination, talent negotiations, campaign timelines, deliverables, and budget tracking for influencer partnerships.
  • Plan and execute product launches, media moments, client events, and experiential activations.
  • Coordinate media attendance and coverage for virtual and in-person events when applicable.
  • Prepare client agendas, meeting notes, weekly updates, monthly reports, and campaign recaps.
  • Manage and mentor junior team members, ensuring work is accurate, on time, and aligned with account priorities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive communications, social, and brand-marketing strategies.
  • Monitor cultural conversations, beauty trends, social platforms, and relevant local and national news.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 4–5 years of public relations, influencer marketing, or integrated communications experience, ideally within an agency or beauty-focused environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing organic and paid creator campaigns, including negotiations and campaign delivery.
  • Strong relationships with beauty, lifestyle, and culture media and influencer communities.
  • Excellent writing, editing, presentation, and client communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and evolving platform best practices, performance measures, and trends.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with tools such as Google Workspace, Muck Rack, Cision, Critical Mention, Traackr, or comparable platforms.
  • A creative, resourceful, and collaborative mindset with a genuine interest in beauty, wellness, pop culture, and consumer trends.
