Production Planner

About the Role:
The Production Planner is responsible for building and maintaining effective production plans that support service, inventory, and operational performance goals. This person will create schedules, monitor capacity, coordinate materials readiness, and provide reporting and analysis that helps leadership make informed decisions. The role is highly cross-functional and works closely with production, procurement, logistics, quality, and engineering teams to keep operations running smoothly.
What You’ll Do:

Production Planning
- Create and maintain production schedules aligned to weekly and monthly targets.
- Issue and prioritize production orders based on operational needs and demand plans.
- Monitor capacity across labor, materials, and equipment to identify potential constraints.
- Communicate risks proactively and help resolve schedule disruptions.
- Partner with procurement, production, logistics, quality, and engineering to support plan execution.
- Coordinate shipment timing between the plant and third-party logistics partners.
- Work closely with shop floor leadership to address day-to-day scheduling issues and changing priorities.

Inventory Management
- Manage raw material and finished goods inventory levels to support service goals while balancing storage limitations.
- Identify and support actions to reduce slow-moving or excess inventory.
- Maintain data accuracy across warehouse and production planning systems.
- Track inventory trends and recommend improvements to stocking strategies.

Strategic Analysis
- Analyze production and inventory data to identify efficiency gains and cost-saving opportunities.
- Assess operational risks and support contingency planning.
- Develop reporting tools and KPI dashboards to measure performance and highlight key drivers.
- Synthesize information from multiple manufacturing systems to improve visibility and decision-making.
- Support department goals through data-backed recommendations and process improvements.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in production planning, supply chain, inventory management, or a related function in the CPG / Personal Care industry
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and communicate effectively with leadership and external partners.
- High attention to detail and a structured approach to planning and execution.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for analysis, KPI tracking, and documentation.
- Experience with ERP systems; SAP experience is a plus.
- Experience with warehouse management systems is a plus.
- A proactive, resourceful mindset and a strong sense of ownership.
