Senior Product Designer — 12-Month Contract (Remote)

We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to join a growing Product Design team focused on transforming complex accounting experiences into intuitive, high-quality user workflows. This role is remote and open to candidates across Canada (excluding Quebec) and the US.
This role will focus on simplifying and improving accounting setup, onboarding, and ledger management workflows for mid-market and enterprise customers.
The ideal candidate is highly experienced in product design for complex systems, with the ability to translate technical and financial workflows into clear, scalable, and user-friendly experiences. They are comfortable working in fast-paced environments and can quickly ramp up in a contract role to deliver meaningful impact from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive experience strategy in partnership with Product and Engineering, using research and insights to inform priorities and success metrics.
- Design end-to-end workflows across onboarding, account setup, configuration, and ledger management.
- Simplify complex accounting and structured data workflows into clear, scalable UI patterns.
- Conduct rapid prototyping and user research to validate design decisions and improve time-to-value for customers.
- Deliver polished, accessible, and cohesive interaction and visual design across the product experience.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to advocate for user needs, manage trade-offs, and ensure alignment across teams.
- Contribute to design storytelling and communicate rationale clearly to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in digital product design.
- Experience in B2B SaaS, FinTech, or accounting platforms is preferred but not required.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating complex product design work (e.g., onboarding flows, configuration systems, or data-heavy workflows).
- Strong understanding of interaction design, information architecture, usability, and visual design principles.
- Experience designing for activation, onboarding, and long-term user engagement.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma and prototyping tools.
- Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) into design workflows is an asset.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly articulate design rationale.
- Collaborative, low-ego approach with strong stakeholder management skills.
