Senior Technical Designer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Designer to join a fast-paced fashion team supporting a wide range of product categories. This person will play a critical role in translating creative concepts into technically sound, production-ready garments, ensuring fit, construction, quality, and consistency across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed technical packages, including construction details, garment specifications, grading, and measurement charts.
- Partner closely with design, production, and product development teams to ensure design intent is executed accurately.
- Evaluate samples for fit, workmanship, and overall construction, and provide clear, actionable comments to vendors.
- Lead fit sessions and communicate revisions to achieve proper fit and silhouette across categories.
- Troubleshoot technical and construction issues throughout development and production.
- Ensure consistency in fit, quality, and brand standards across all products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support development calendars and meet key deadlines.
- Use Adobe Illustrator and other Creative Suite tools to create and update technical flats and related documentation.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in technical design within the fashion or apparel industry.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, patternmaking, grading, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience working across multiple product categories.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-moving environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical information to internal teams and external partners.
