Our client, an established brand in the education space is seeking a Senior Digital Designer, E-Commerce. This is a remote freelance position (40 hours a week) for 6 months with potential to extend.

Must be US based and located in PST time zone.

About the Role
The Senior Digital Designer, E-Commerce brings strong brand and campaign sensibility to our e-commerce experience, translating our brand into compelling, on-brand experiences across web and mobile. This is a senior-level role with independently owns key digital touchpoints—from the Homepage segmentation experience to campaign landing pages—driving weekly updates, testing and iterating on live designs, and making sound, data-informed design decisions with minimal oversight. Serving as the team’s Figma lead, this person builds and governs the design libraries, systems, and standards the broader creative team works within, while also training and elevating the team’s Figma proficiency. Partnering closely with creative, marketing, e-commerce, and development teams, they bring ideas from concept through polished, on-brand execution across all digital touchpoints.

Essential Functions

  • E-Commerce Site Design & Optimization -Drives the continuous improvement of the design of the e-commerce retail site experience, including Homepage segmentation for desktop and mobile, from concept through execution. Drive weekly updates and iterate on live designs based on performance and feedback. 3
  • Design Systems & Figma Leadership — Serve as the team’s Figma lead: owning, building, and maintaining design libraries and design systems, and setting standards for how components and styles are structured. Develop and maintain templates, Figma components, icon libraries, and style guides, and partner closely with developers to build and evolve components and modules that work seamlessly within the system.
  • Figma Training & Team Enablement – Develop and deliver Figma training for the creative team, creating lessons and working sessions that build team-wide proficiency and elevate how the broader team works within Figma.
  • Campaign & Landing Page Design — Design marketing landing pages for desktop and mobile, from concept to execution, ensuring visual consistency and design excellence across all digital touchpoints. Maintain brand integrity by delivering polished digital assets rooted in sound design principles and usability standards. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Design-to-Dev Handoff — Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including creative, operations, marketing, and e-commerce, managing multiple projects simultaneously and proactively identifying opportunities to improve design and performance. Manage design-to-development handoff, including annotating specs and staying engaged through implementation to ensure designs are built accurately and as intended.

• Minimum Qualifications:

5-10 Years experience in visual and digital design for web, mobile, and product experiences, with senior/lead-level ownership

Portfolio demonstrating strong campaign-driven digital design, adapting a brand across web and landing pages with a sharp eye for hierarchy, typography, and visual systems,

Experience in e-commerce retail design, including owning weekly site updates and a continuous cycle of testing and iterating on live designs

Advanced proficiency in Figma, including building and maintaining design systems, component libraries, and style guides from the ground up

Experience training or mentoring others in Figma, developing structured lessons or working sessions to build team proficiency
ostrong working knowledge of project management software (WorkFront).

Additional Skills
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and prototyping platforms; strong understanding of UX principles, responsive design, breakpoints, and type scaling; and how design decisions translate to development. Familiarity with front-end development fundamentals (HTML/CSS/JS)
