A leading kids’ lifestyle brand is seeking a Girls’ Assistant Designer to join their growing team. This is a full-time, 5-days-onsite role based in New York City, offering hands-on experience in the girlswear category and the opportunity to grow within a collaborative, creative environment.

Assistant Designer- Women’s Apparel

Client Overview: Innovative, multi-category fashion house, which manufactures, designs and markets to a mass consumer base throughout the United States

Position Overview: Assistant Designer supports the design team in the creative execution of product lines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Senior Designer in developing seasonal lines, including technical sketches, line sheets, and CADs.
• Create presentation boards and other visual tools for milestone meetings.
• Support preparations for Color & Concept reviews, Line Presentations, and other key meetings.
• Complete and coordinate design details for product development with the technical design team.
• Assist in the selection of trims for development and follow up with production to ensure timely execution.

Qualifications:

• Degree in apparel design, fashion design, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in apparel design- internships included
• Working knowledge of garment construction and measurements.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Excel, and Word.
• Strong organizational skills, creativity, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Patternmaker to join a leading apparel brand’s Pre-Production team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both manual and digital patternmaking, a strong understanding of garment construction and fit, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Translate design sketches, specifications, and samples into accurate, production-ready patterns

• Develop and draft digital patterns using Gerber software

• Conduct and participate in fit sessions, making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal fit and construction

• Create and maintain detailed tech packs, including sewing and construction instructions

• Collaborate cross-functionally with design, development, and production teams to ensure precision and quality

• Manage deadlines and workflow in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high accuracy

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of patternmaking experience (manual and CAD)

• Proficiency in Gerber CAD software required

• Knowledge of Centric PLM and Microsoft Office Suite preferred

• Bachelor’s degree or Fashion School degree in Patternmaking or Fashion Merchandising preferred

• Highly organized, motivated, and detail-oriented

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills
