24 Seven is partnering with a well-known, digital print agency in Portland, OR to help them find a 3D Engineering Manager to join their team in this onsite opportunity. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity with excellent benefits!
Ideal Candidate: will have 8+ years in engineering management (or a relevant degree with 3–5 years’ experience), proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, and strong knowledge of materials and fabrication methods across wood, metal, plastics, graphics, and large-format printing.
Role Overview:
As the Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a small Portland-based team to turn creative retail and fabrication concepts into buildable solutions. Overseeing complex design-and-build projects, you’ll guide day-to-day manufacturing operations and ensure all deliverables are accurate, on time, and aligned with client needs.
This hands-on role combines leadership, project management, and industrial design. You’ll collaborate with sales and creative teams to develop innovative retail displays and fixtures, manage R&D initiatives, and make key decisions on materials and fabrication methods—all while driving efficiency, innovation, and quality across your team.
Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor the 3D Engineering, R&D, and Install teams to ensure alignment and performance.
Drive manufacturing operations in line with company vision, goals, and client expectations.
Oversee CNC, Build, Metal, and Finishing departments, promoting collaboration, efficiency, and quality craftsmanship.
Partner with client, sales, project management, and design teams to coordinate production methods and timelines.
Troubleshoot fabrication, graphics, and print challenges to maintain project schedules.
Interpret construction drawings and project specifications accurately.
Travel as needed for installations and site surveys to support client projects.
Qualifications:
8+ years in engineering management within retail display, exhibit, or custom fabrication, or a bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design with 3–5 years of experience.
Proficient in 3D design and engineering software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Strong understanding of materials and fabrication methods across wood, metal, plastics, graphics, and large-format printing.
Skilled in managing complex projects from concept through fabrication and installation.
Proven leadership abilities with experience mentoring and motivating engineering teams.
Ability to read and interpret engineering, production, and shop drawings.
