Account Executive

We are seeking a driven Account Executive with handbag sales experience to manage and expand relationships with full-price, non-discount retailers. This role requires expertise in both branded and private label product lines, as well as a proven ability to grow premium accounts while protecting brand positioning and margins.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management & Growth: Manage and grow existing relationships with department stores, specialty boutiques, and upscale e-commerce partners.
  • Identify and open new business opportunities within premium retail channels—no off-price or discount retailers.
  • Branded & Private Label Sales: Present seasonal handbag collections and private label concepts to buyers, tailoring assortments to each retailer’s needs.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery, and terms to meet revenue and margin goals while maintaining brand integrity.
  • Planning & Forecasting: Develop sales forecasts, track sell-through, and provide actionable feedback to design and production teams.
  • Partner with operations to ensure timely order fulfillment and resolve any account issues promptly.
  • Market & Brand Representation: Represent the brand at trade shows, market appointments, and key retail meetings.
  • Provide market insights and competitive analysis to guide product development and merchandising.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of handbag sales experience with a strong background in both branded and private label products.
  • Must have experience selling branded and private label products to major accounts.
  • Must have current relationships with key accounts including Myers, Target, Kohl’s, JCPenney, and Nordstrom.
  • Established relationships with premium/non-discount retailers.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities; proficient with Microsoft 365 and CRM tools (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce).
  • Willingness to travel for market appointments, trade shows, and client visits.
