Accounting Manager- Beauty
Hybrid 3 days NYC
Salary: $100-120K DOE
*Must have 5–7 years of accounting experience, including experience managing direct reports.

Client Overview: Our client is a growing organization within the luxury beauty and fragrance industry.

Role Overview: The Accounting Manager will report to senior finance leadership and play a key role in overseeing core accounting functions and supporting accurate financial reporting. This individual will balance hands-on technical accounting responsibilities with team oversight and process enhancement initiatives. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced setting, is detail-oriented, and enjoys improving systems and workflows.

Accounting Manager Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Oversee general ledger activity and ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Supervise and mentor team members handling day-to-day transactional accounting.
  • Support preparation of financial statements and management reporting.
  • Assist with external audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Help maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Partner cross-functionally to support business initiatives and provide financial insight.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Contribute to special projects and ad hoc analyses as needed.

Accounting Manager Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Experience working in a multi-entity and/or multi-state environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP system experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Comfortable operating in a growing, evolving organization.
