Accounts Payable Associate
Onsite 5 days in Long Island City
Salary: $75-80K

Client Overview: Our client is a renowned global luxury brand. They are seeking an Accounting Associate to join their team.

Role Overview: The Accounting Associate will support the Accounts Payable function within a fast-paced finance department, ensuring timely, accurate processing of payables and adherence to established accounting protocols. This on-site role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a structured team environment.

Accounts Payable Associate Responsibilities:

  • Verify journal, ledger, and related accounting entries
  • Monitor company travel programs and employee expense compliance
  • Support administration of the company’s purchasing program
  • Post journal, ledger, and financial transactions
  • Maintain organized records, correspondence, and documentation of expected payments
  • Perform filing, photocopying, and general administrative tasks
  • Process vendor invoices and route checks/vouchers for approval
  • Manage ActivePay and PositivePay FTP payment file submissions
  • Prepare year-end 1099 and 1096 forms
  • Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual accrual schedules
  • Prepare journal entries as needed
  • Compile and audit credit card reports to ensure accurate documentation and approvals
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close

Accounts Payable Associate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a general accounting environment
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and best practices
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., Dynamics or similar systems)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong math skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Highly organized with the ability to learn and retain information quickly
  • Experience with purchase orders and credit card administration
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy
  • Comfortable performing both administrative and analytical tasks
