About the Role
We’re seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Contemporary Apparel Designer to join our New York–based design team. This role will focus on concepting, designing, and developing women’s ready-to-wear collections that embody a modern, elevated aesthetic—balancing trend relevance, wearability, and brand DNA.

Key Responsibilities
• Research seasonal trends, fabrics, colors, and silhouettes aligned with the brand’s point of view.
• Design and develop cohesive collections across categories (knits, wovens, outerwear, and soft dressing).
• Create detailed tech packs, sketches, and presentation materials for internal and external use.
• Partner closely with Product Development, Merchandising, and Technical Design to ensure design integrity from concept through production.
• Attend fittings and collaborate on garment construction, fabric selection, and finishing details.
• Work with vendors and mills to source innovative materials and trims that align with aesthetic and cost parameters.
• Maintain awareness of the competitive landscape, ensuring the brand remains relevant and distinctive in the contemporary market.
• Present design concepts and seasonal inspiration to leadership, merchandising, and sales teams.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field.
• 5+ years of experience designing for a contemporary or luxury women’s apparel brand.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and fabrications.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD design programs.
• Excellent sketching, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Passion for modern design, craftsmanship, and innovation.
