Assistant Technical Designer

Our client is seeking a fulltime Assistant Technical Designer to support our Private Label Accounts. This role will support the Designer in all aspects of the development process. This is a fast-paced and hands-on role within a small collaborative team. The ideal candidate is detail orientated, technically confident, and thrives in a deadline-driven environment. We are seeking someone who knows how to translate design vision into production ready product.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a liaison between Private Label clients and overseas factories
• Partner closely with overseas factories to manage samples and submits, ensuring all deadlines are met
• Create and maintain WIP charts, keeping the status of all styles accurate and up to date
• Measure all samples, and maintain accurate spec sheets for Private Label clients
• Collaborate and problem solve with clients and technical design
• Review quality submits and ensure they are aligned with customer standards
• Organize and file all samples and submits
• Track and ship packages for all Private Label development
• Attend meetings with Private Label clients and take detailed notes
• Provide administrative support to keep the design and production calendar on track
• Create and maintain line sheets for Private Label collections
• Develop initial specs for Private Label styles

Ideal Candidate Has:

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Design
• 1-2 years of experience in Technical Design role
• Proven proficiently in measuring samples and a solid understanding of garment construction
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently
• Excellent organization, communication and time management skills
• A flexible, “wear-many-hats” mindset with an eagerness to learn
