Digital Asset Image Coordinator – Freelance
Our manufacturing client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Digital Asset Image Coordinator to support our photo production and digital asset management efforts. This freelance role primarily focuses on image post-production, editing, and the maintenance of our Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, supporting the Digital Capture and Asset Manager closely. While occasional photography opportunities are available, the main emphasis is on ensuring high-quality image preparation and consistent asset organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Digital Capture and Asset Manager with image production and studio photography tasks.
- Edit and optimize images through adjustments, retouching, and compositing to meet DecoPac’s quality standards.
- Oversee image clipping and outlining workflows, collaborating with external vendors for image preparation and finalization.
- Upload and manage final image assets in the DecoPac Digital Asset Management system (Canto), including adding metadata for improved searchability.
- Maintain and organize assets within the DAM platform to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Support cake decorators and product coordinators during photo shoots, including setting up lighting, props, and camera equipment.
- Occasionally shoot studio photographs of products and cakes, 360-degree GIF rotations, and video content as needed.
- Manage and maintain studio equipment, inventory, supplies, and props in an organized manner.
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in photography, digital media, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, including photo retouching, image adjustments, and compositing techniques.
- Commercial photography or video studio experience preferred.
- Knowledge of digital photographic technologies including Nikon and Canon cameras, LED and strobe lighting, and software like Capture One is highly desirable.
- Experience with Digital Asset Management software—Canto, Lightroom, or Capture One—is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Self-motivated with excellent communication skills; able to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
This role is primarily located in our Anoka, MN photo studio. While the position is in-person, some hybrid remote work opportunities may be available in the future.
