Job Summary:
The Buyer, New & Replenishment owns the strategy and execution of both newness and replenishment across multiple classes. This role delivers a balanced, trend-right, customer-focused assortment that consistently meets sales, margin, inventory, and in-stock goals. Partnering closely with cross-functional teams and vendors, this role drives volume through timely reorders, chase decisions, and disciplined inventory management.
Key Responsibilities:
Assortment Strategy & Execution
- Own end-to-end assortment strategy, including line plans, assortment architecture, and product roadmaps
- Curate trend-relevant, premium-yet-accessible assortments aligned with the brand’s customer
Replenishment & Inventory Management
- Analyze sales, inventory, and demand to forecast needs and drive reorder and chase decisions
- Develop and execute seasonal receipt plans to support revenue, margin, and inventory turn targets
- Actively manage inventory health through reorders, markdown strategies, and risk mitigation
Analytics & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner closely with Planning to manage Open-to-Buy (OTB), track KPIs, and align to financial goals
- Track best- and worst-performing styles, colors, and fabrics to inform future assortments
- Build strong partnerships with Development, Merchandising, Production, Planning, and Marketing
Vendor Management
- Establish and manage vendor relationships, including sourcing, sample reviews, and negotiation of cost, quality, and delivery
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
- 4+ years of retail buying experience
- Experience buying women’s apparel and/or accessories
- Proven success driving sales, margin, and inventory KPIs
- Strong analytical and retail math skills with advanced Excel proficiency (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFS)
- Confident decision-maker with strong vendor negotiation skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
