Job description

A home goods brand is currently seeking an experienced product development leader within the home textiles industry to oversee the development of soft home décor collections for major retail partners. This role will focus on categories such as window curtains, throw pillows, and other soft home textile products, while partnering closely with merchandising, design, and sourcing teams to bring trend-driven products to market.


Position Summary:
This role will lead the development of soft home décor collections for major retail partners across off-price and value channels. The individual will oversee product development from concept through commercialization, collaborating closely with design, sourcing, and merchandising teams to deliver high-quality products aligned with retailer strategies, consumer trends, and cost targets.


Key Responsibilities:
• Lead end-to-end product development across soft home décor categories including curtains, pillows, and related textile products
• Develop product assortments aligned with retailer strategies and consumer trends
• Partner closely with off-price and value retail channels
• Translate trend insights, market analysis, and competitive research into commercially viable product concepts
• Collaborate with sourcing and production teams to ensure quality standards, cost targets, and development timelines are met
• Manage and mentor a small team including textile and graphic designers
• Drive product innovation while maintaining alignment with retailer requirements and margin expectations
• Partner with merchandising and sales teams to ensure collections support category growth and customer needs
• Contribute to long-term product development strategy as a senior member of the team


Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience in product development, merchandising, or buying within the home industry
• Experience working within home décor or home textile manufacturing environments or large retail organizations
• Experience developing products for off-price and value retail channels
• Strong understanding of retail merchandising strategy and buying processes
• Deep knowledge of soft home décor categories, particularly textiles
• Ability to lead product development strategy while managing cross-functional teams
• Strong trend forecasting, consumer insight, and market awareness capabilities
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
