Director of Product Marketing – B2B Tech
Full Time/ salaried position: $160-180k base + bonus
On site 4 days/ week in Stamford, CT
Job Summary:
The Director of Product Marketing is responsible for positioning a leading telecommunications provider’s business products and solutions at the forefront of the market. This role manages the development and execution of product positioning and marketing strategies across a diverse suite of telecommunications offerings, including data, voice, video, and managed services. Leveraging deep technical and market expertise, the Director will spearhead innovative go-to-market strategies at both the product and portfolio levels, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to drive awareness, preference, adoption, retention, and growth.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Define comprehensive marketing requirements across the buyer’s journey, leading cross-functional teams to implement strategies that drive product success.
- Establish product marketing strategy, including audience segmentation, positioning, messaging, and input into the overall marketing mix.
- Create and deliver differentiated value propositions for the market.
- Lead go-to-market planning for new product launches and features; oversee cross-functional implementation including solution/product launch activities.
- Translate complex product features into compelling buyer benefits and business outcomes for use in market-facing materials.
- Leverage competitive intelligence to inform market positioning; integrate insights into programs, collateral, and sales tools.
- Develop multi-product solutions tailored to customer segments and verticals with impactful messaging.
- Create target customer profiles based on solution-specific applications.
- Provide customer insights to inform the product roadmap and identify critical strategic needs.
- Collaborate across integrated marketing functions—web, collateral, white papers, events, advertising, PR—to develop content for all phases of the buyer’s journey.
- Liaise with industry analysts, Product Management, equipment manufacturers, Offer Management, Sales, Operations, Marketing Communications, and segment Marketing teams.
- Drive new market investigations through analysis and customer requirement gathering.
- Perform additional related projects and duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or equivalent experience
- 8-10 years B2B product/solutions marketing or related business experience
- 5 years B2B content marketing experience
- 8-10 years prior telecommunications or cable industry experience
- Comprehensive technical knowledge spanning data, voice, video, and managed services
- Proven ability to explain technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences
- Experience developing messaging, positioning, and sales enablement tools
- Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent prioritization and organizational skills; autonomy in managing large projects from inception to completion
- Ability to evaluate and execute strategies quickly and accurately
- Teamwork orientation with change management ability
- Staff management skills: defining work scope, coaching development, conducting performance reviews
- Confidence in delivering formal presentations/public speaking engagements
