Director / VP Product Development – Contract (Beauty)

Schedule: 40 hours/ week
Location: Remote with occasional travel in the Tri State Area
Pay: 80-100/hr (based on experience level)

Position Summary

Lead end-to-end makeup product development for a consumer beauty organization, from concept through launch. Drive formula, packaging, vendor, testing, and cross-functional development activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop product, formula, and packaging briefs.
• Lead innovation pipelines, testing, approvals, and launch readiness.
• Manage formulators, manufacturers, and packaging suppliers.
• Review formulas, shades, samples, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Partner with marketing, creative, operations, sales, education, and regulatory teams.
• Track timelines, risks, documentation, and project dependencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 4–8 years of beauty, cosmetics, or consumer product development experience.
• Experience developing makeup formulas and packaging.
• Strong vendor management and project management skills.
• Experience with clean or ingredient-conscious beauty preferred.
