Entry-Level Colorist
Position Overview
We are seeking a fashion-focused, detail-oriented Entry-Level Colorist to support the Design and Fabric teams with seasonal color development and color card management. This role is ideal for a recent fashion school graduate or someone early in their career who has a strong understanding of color, textiles, and apparel and is comfortable working in Adobe Illustrator.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage seasonal color cards, including ordering Pantone colors and maintaining accurate color records.
- Create and organize physical color cards, including cutting, taping, printing, and labeling color references.
- Track and maintain seasonal color information and approvals.
- Support factory-ready artwork and print/color development.
- Coordinate color standards and ensure consistency across fabrics, prints, and products.
- Work closely with Design, Fabric, Product Development, Production, and overseas vendors.
- Assist with color development, recoloring, color separations, and repeats for original and studio prints.
- Maintain organized color files, records, and approval histories.
- Assist with lab dip and color approval tracking as needed.
- For full-time candidates, create and maintain factory-ready artwork, including color and print files.
- Support additional Design and Fabric team projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Degree or education in Fashion Design, Textile Design
- Strong interest in fashion, color, textiles, and apparel.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; additional Adobe Creative Suite experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of textile fabrics, prints, and color.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and follow-up skills.
- Apparel, textile, or product development experience is a plus.
