Florist (San Francisco)

We are seeking a part-time Freelance Florist to create beautiful, on-brand floral arrangements in a busy, partnership retail environment. This role focuses on floral design, product preparation, and customer interaction—no cash handling or standard checkout duties are required.
Compensation & Schedule
- Pay: $27/hour (part-time florist)
- Schedule: Up to 24 hours per week (3–4 shifts)
- Must have weekend availability
- Must be available for early mornings and evenings
- Work required during peak/blackout vacation periods
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble floral arrangements and bouquets according to established design specifications and brand standards.
- Handle and process various flowers, foliage, and plants to produce consistent, high-quality products.
- Inspect floral product for freshness and quality, ensuring all items meet visual and brand guidelines.
- Maintain clean, visually appealing displays throughout business hours in accordance with visual standards.
- Engage customers in a friendly, professional manner: answer questions, offer product recommendations, and support an enjoyable shopping experience.
- Communicate knowledgeably about the brand, product assortment, and available services (including events/bridal where applicable).
- Support sales-related activities as needed (e.g., basic POS actions or order support; no credit card checkout responsibilities).
- Manage daily inventory, including receiving and processing live floral shipments.
- Participate in scheduled inventory counts and related stock management tasks.
- Share internal and customer feedback with management to support continuous improvement.
- Collaborate respectfully with in-store partners and work harmoniously with the team.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of floral or flower shop experience with hands-on design and arrangement skills.
- Strong time management and the ability to follow design and operational instructions accurately.
- Customer service skills and comfort interacting with the public in a busy retail setting.
- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, and during peak/blackout periods.
- Experience working with live floral product (cut flowers, foliage, plants).
- Ability to lift/move up to 30 lbs and safely use a ladder up to 8 ft.
- Prior retail experience is a plus but not required.
