Freelance- Logistics Analyst-Onsite- Newport Beach, CA

A well-known restaurant brand is currently seeking an Inbound Analyst, Logistics to support their Supply Chain team. This role will focus on inbound logistics (suppliers to distributors) and help improve transportation efficiency, carrier performance, and supply chain operations while ensuring high service levels across the network.

Position Summary:
This role will support inbound transportation operations and supply chain analytics, focusing on optimizing transportation channels, improving operational processes, and ensuring accurate tracking of supplier shipments. The ideal candidate has experience in freight forwarding, truckload transportation, brokerage operations, or supply chain logistics, along with strong analytical and Excel skills.

Key Responsibilities:
• Optimize inbound supply chain operations including transportation channel and mode optimization
• Track and trace open and past-due purchase orders to ensure timely product flow
• Investigate and approve carrier accessorial charges
• Identify and resolve inbound transportation issues impacting distribution centers
• Collaborate with transportation management and supply chain teams to improve operational processes
• Support purchasing and supply chain teams with data analysis to improve supply movement and allocation strategies
• Present weekly supply chain and logistics performance metrics to internal teams
• Participate in quarterly business reviews with suppliers and distribution centers
• Partner with Quality Assurance to maintain food safety, traceability, and quality standards across transportation networks

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 1–3 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or transportation operations
• Experience with freight forwarding, truckload transportation, or brokerage operations preferred
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience analyzing operational data
• Experience with Power BI is a plus
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present to internal teams
• Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
