Our healthcare client is seeking Implementation Project Managers to lead complex, cross-functional implementations that bring new clients and solutions onto our platforms. These roles are accountable for orchestrating all phases of implementation, from initial discovery and solution design through configuration, testing, and go-live stabilization. You will partner closely with clients and internal teams to ensure delivery is on time, within scope, and aligned to business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end implementation delivery for assigned clients or programs, serving as the main point of contact from project kickoff through post-launch transition.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including scope, milestones, resource needs, dependencies, and risk/issue logs.
- Lead discovery and requirements sessions with clients and internal stakeholders to translate business needs into clear, actionable implementation requirements.
- Coordinate cross-functional workstreams (e.g., operations, technology, clinical, data, and network teams) to ensure timely completion of configuration, integration, and readiness activities.
- Drive adherence to implementation governance, including change control, documentation standards, and sign-off checkpoints.
- Facilitate regular client and internal status meetings; provide concise, accurate reporting on progress, risks, decisions, and next steps.
- Proactively identify issues, risks, and scope gaps; develop mitigation strategies and lead resolution efforts in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Oversee testing and validation phases, coordinating test planning, defect triage, and readiness assessments to ensure high-quality go-lives.
- Prepare and deliver client-facing materials (status reports, timelines, implementation playbooks, training/transition documents).
- Support smooth handoffs to ongoing account management and operations teams, ensuring knowledge transfer and documentation are complete.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of implementation methodologies, templates, and tools based on project learnings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of experience in project or program management, with a focus on implementations, onboarding, or solution deployment.
- Experience working in healthcare, health technology, PBM, or other highly regulated environments.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent projects and stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to structure complex information and drive actionable decisions.
- Advanced proficiency with project management and productivity tools (e.g., MS Project or similar, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, collaboration platforms).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting to client and leadership audiences.
- Proven ability to influence without direct authority, negotiate trade-offs, and build consensus across diverse stakeholders.
- Comfort working independently in a freelance capacity while integrating effectively with distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal project management training or certification (e.g., PMP, Prince2, Agile/Scrum).
- Prior experience leading large-scale client implementations or platform migrations.
- Exposure to data integration, systems implementation, or technology-driven transformation projects.
This freelance opportunity is ideal for experienced implementation professionals who thrive in fast-paced, client-facing environments and can drive complex initiatives from concept to successful delivery while collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners.
