Job description

Junior Art Director, Social

Los Angeles, CA · Full-Time · On-Site, 5 Days a Week · Creative & Brand

Our client is a premium consumer lifestyle brand seeking a hands-on, social-first creative professional to help shape compelling visual storytelling across digital channels. The Junior Art Director, Social will concept, produce, and deliver high-quality photo and video content that supports brand campaigns, product launches, evergreen storytelling, and paid media.

Reporting to the Creative Director and partnering closely with Social and Marketing teams, this role translates business priorities into engaging, platform-native creative. The ideal candidate brings exceptional visual judgment, strong creative instincts, and the ability to execute polished content from initial concept through final delivery.

This is a highly executional role for someone who is comfortable developing concepts, planning shoots, styling products, capturing photo and video, directing talent, and editing final assets. While larger brand campaigns are led collaboratively, this person will independently own the creative development and production of always-on social content.

Responsibilities
Creative Development

  • Develop social-first concepts for launches, campaigns, evergreen content, and paid media.
  • Translate broader brand initiatives into engaging, platform-specific creative.
  • Create mood boards, creative references, shot lists, and production plans for content initiatives.
  • Bring a strong visual point of view while maintaining consistency across the brand’s creative identity.

Creative Execution

  • Own social content creation from concept through final asset delivery.
  • Independently plan, produce, style, shoot, direct, and edit high-quality photo and video content.
  • Make thoughtful creative decisions around composition, lighting, styling, props, casting, pacing, and storytelling.
  • Capture content that feels elevated while remaining native to each social platform.
  • Edit and deliver polished assets for Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, paid media, email, and emerging channels.

Production

  • Produce social content shoots from start to finish, including location scouting, talent coordination, prop sourcing, scheduling, and logistics.
  • Direct on-set execution for owned productions while maintaining a high creative standard.
  • Support larger brand productions when social content capture is required.

Collaboration

  • Partner with Creative, Social, and Marketing teams to identify content opportunities and evolving business needs.
  • Present concepts and creative thinking confidently while incorporating feedback and iteration.
  • Stay current on cultural shifts, social-platform trends, and emerging content formats.

Qualifications

  • 4–6+ years of experience in art direction, content creation, brand creative, or social-first creative.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong creative judgment across photography, video, styling, and visual storytelling.
  • Experience supporting luxury, fashion, lifestyle, or premium consumer brands.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently concept, produce, shoot, and edit content.
  • Excellent eye for composition, lighting, color, typography, pacing, and design.
  • Strong photography and videography skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, and After Effects.
  • Experience with Figma and modern content-editing tools such as CapCut.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple productions simultaneously.
  • Highly collaborative, self-directed, and comfortable taking ownership.

What Success Looks Like

A successful Junior Art Director consistently delivers social content that raises the creative standard across every touchpoint. They do more than execute requests: they identify opportunities, bring thoughtful ideas forward, and make sound creative decisions with minimal oversight.

This person balances speed with craft, creating work that feels natural to social platforms while remaining elevated, intentional, and visually distinctive. They can work resourcefully across a range of production scopes while helping expand and strengthen the brand’s visual language.

How to Apply

Please submit a resume and portfolio featuring executed design work along with examples of creative thinking, art direction, photography, video, or social content. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.

Equal opportunity employer.
