Our client, a global technology consultancy/provider, is looking to bring on a Lead Visual Designer, Design System to work on their large pharmaceutical client. This role is remote, will be around 40 hours per week, and 12 months in duration, with potential to extend:

Overview:
Seeking a Lead Product Designer with exceptional visual design skills and a strong foundation in branding, design systems, and product design. Partnering with a global leader in pharmaceutical innovation, you will craft digital experiences that are functional, visually distinctive, and accessible. You will transform complex scientific and clinical content into brand-defining experiences that inspire trust, inform communities, and advance healthcare innovation.

As the design lead on high-visibility projects, you will guide strategy, elevate visual expression, and ensure all outputs reflect design excellence and brand cohesion. This role requires collaboration across product, marketing, engineering, and stakeholder teams, balancing creativity with systems thinking to deliver impactful digital solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Visual & Brand Design Leadership: Lead visual and brand design for web, mobile, and interactive experiences, setting the standard for aesthetics, clarity, and alignment with the company’s identity. Ensure every product, feature, and campaign reflects world-class design quality.
• Creative Storytelling: Translate complex medical and scientific content into compelling, accessible narratives through design that resonates with healthcare providers and global audiences. Turn intricate information into visually engaging and understandable experiences.
• End-to-End Project Ownership: Drive projects from discovery through delivery—shaping requirements, conceptualizing ideas, executing design solutions, and delivering polished assets that meet both user needs and business objectives.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, engineers, marketers, and other stakeholders to align on vision, define priorities, and deliver impactful, innovative digital solutions across platforms.
• Design System Stewardship: Contribute to and evolve the company’s design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and excellence across all digital touchpoints while supporting efficient, high-quality design execution.
• Quality Assurance: Uphold the highest standards of craft, ensuring pixel-perfect execution, technical precision, and meticulous attention to detail across all deliverables.

Required Experience and Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Visual Communication, or related field
• 10+ years in digital design, with 7+ years in product design.
• Hands-on experience designing across web, mobile, and interactive platforms.
• Proven experience building, maintaining, and evolving design systems.
• Experience leading design initiatives and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Healthcare/pharmaceutical experience preferred but not required.

Qualifications:
• Aesthetic Vision & Brand Expertise: Demonstrated ability to distill complex content into elegant, accessible, and engaging designs. Proven track record in shaping and evolving brand identity through design, creating experiences that are both impactful and aligned with strategic goals. Strong aesthetic judgment and an innate ability to balance creativity, usability, and brand consistency.
• Design Systems & Technical Skills: Hands-on experience building, maintaining, and evolving scalable design systems. Expert proficiency in Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), with additional skills in motion and animation considered a valuable asset.
• Leadership & Collaboration: Adept at leading design initiatives end-to-end, from concept to delivery, while inspiring cross-functional teams. Skilled at articulating design rationale, guiding creative decisions, and fostering alignment across stakeholders.
• Intellectual Curiosity & Industry Adaptability: Naturally curious and highly adaptable, capable of quickly understanding complex healthcare, scientific, or technical content and translating it into accessible, visually compelling design solutions. Prior experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industries is a plus but not required.

Language Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to clearly convey design rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
