MarTech Technical PM (Freelance)
Type: Freelance (W2)
Location: Hybrid (onsite as required)
Duration: 9 months
Rate: Up to $67 per hour
This role sits within a large enterprise’s Marketing Technology (MarTech) Program Management Office (PMO), delivered through a consulting partner. As a MarTech Technical PM, you will lead complex, cross organizational programs that enable the organization’s marketing technology strategy. You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Marketing stakeholders to build and maintain roadmaps, define requirements, manage delivery timelines, mitigate risks, and ensure clear, consistent communication across a globally distributed organization.
The ideal candidate is a hands on, technically fluent program manager with strong knowledge of product lifecycle management and agile delivery. You are comfortable operating independently, managing multiple parallel workstreams, and influencing technical teams without direct authority. You will help drive structure, transparency, and execution excellence across high visibility MarTech initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Define program scope and objectives with key business and technical stakeholders, translating strategic goals into clear deliverables, milestones, and success metrics.
- Develop and maintain detailed program plans, including schedules, dependencies, resource needs, risks, and constraints.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to ensure consistent, scalable agile practices and high quality product delivery across MarTech initiatives.
- Create and manage roadmaps for MarTech capabilities and releases, ensuring alignment with marketing, data, and platform strategies.
- Lead day to day program execution: monitor progress, identify and resolve blockers, manage scope, and proactively surface and mitigate risks and issues.
- Facilitate cross functional ceremonies and working sessions (e.g., planning, backlog refinement, status reviews) to keep teams aligned and accountable.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders at multiple levels, driving clarity of expectations, tradeoffs, and decision making.
- Conduct regular progress and health reviews to ensure initiatives meet time, budget, and quality targets.
- Produce clear, concise, and timely status reporting and dashboards for leadership and partner teams.
- Prepare and deliver executive ready presentations and supporting documentation that communicate program strategy, progress, risks, and outcomes.
- Continuously improve processes by simplifying and, where possible, automating ways of working across the MarTech PMO.
