Product Costing Manager

We’re looking for Freelance Product Manager who get excited about turning great ideas into real, physical products on shelves. If you love numbers, spreadsheets, vendor wrangling, and the thrill of getting products launched on time and on budget, this role is built for you.

Key Details

• Initial Term: 2-month contract with potential to extend, Monday through Friday 40hrs/ week onsite.
• Extension: Week-to-week thereafter while the client completes a permanent search
• Work Setup: Onsite

What You’ll Own

• Drive the execution of already-defined product ideas — no staring at a blank page, just moving great concepts across the finish line.
• Work directly with domestic and overseas factories to nail down:
• Tooling costs
• Product costs
• Packaging costs
• Production and shipping schedules

• Build and maintain robust Excel trackers that keep costs, timelines, and key milestones crystal clear.
• Keep stakeholders in the loop with clear, timely updates and data-driven insights.
• Spot risks early, flag issues, and help drive solutions that keep launches on track.
• Partner with product, operations, and purchasing to ensure every SKU is set up for success.

• Are financially minded and enjoy working with costs, margins, and detailed product data.
• Enjoy working with factories and suppliers and are comfortable asking direct questions to get what you need.
• Communicate proactively — you raise your hand early, flag risks, and don’t wait for problems to escalate.
• Have experience in product management, production, merchandising, sourcing, or operations in consumer goods / toys / retail products (a big plus).
