Senior Manager, People Operations

Hybrid (4 days week onsite) | Beverly Hills, CA

An exciting opportunity to lead and shape the People function within a growing, high-energy organization. This hands-on leadership role will own the full employee experience while building scalable, compliant, people-first practices that support continued growth.

The Senior Manager, People Operations will serve as a trusted partner to employees, managers, and leadership. This individual will lead core HR operations, employee relations, compliance, benefits, talent initiatives, and culture programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead People Operations across the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, leave administration, employee relations, and offboarding.
  • Own payroll operations end to end, including timekeeping, PTO, employee changes, payroll reconciliation, and partnership with Accounting and payroll vendors.
  • Serve as the internal owner and subject matter expert for HRIS, payroll, and People systems.
  • Manage benefits administration, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), COBRA, and FSA programs.
  • Ensure compliance with California and federal employment laws, audits, filings, training, policies, and workplace requirements.
  • Lead employee relations matters, investigations, performance concerns, and complex workplace issues with sound judgment and discretion.
  • Coach managers on performance, communication, employee engagement, and policy application.
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning, hiring priorities, recruiting processes, and talent strategy.
  • Own and strengthen performance management, employee development, retention, and culture initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, HR data, reporting, and vendor relationships.

Required Background

  • 7+ years of progressive HR or People Operations experience.
  • Proven experience independently owning payroll, including payroll administration, reconciliation, employee changes, timekeeping, and vendor partnership.
  • Deep knowledge of California employment law and HR compliance.
  • Strong background in employee relations, investigations, benefits, HR operations, and HR systems.
  • Experience partnering closely with Finance or Accounting on payroll and employee-related processes.
  • Strong leadership presence, manager coaching skills, and ability to balance strategy with hands-on execution.
  • Highly organized, solutions-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced growth environment.
