Site Merchandiser
Location: 5 days onsite in NYC
We are seeking an experienced Site Merchandiser to support a fast-paced local deals and e-commerce experience. This freelance role is ideal for a detail-oriented digital marketer who can create compelling on-site content, manage merchandising campaigns end to end, and thrive in an agile, start-up-like environment. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to launch high-impact site experiences that drive engagement, conversion, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, create, and optimize on-brand, customer-centric merchandising content for web and mobile experiences.
- Build, schedule, and publish content using internal content management and publishing tools.
- Monitor performance metrics (CTR, CVR, revenue, engagement) and recommend data-driven improvements to site content and layout.
- Partner with marketing, design, and product teams to support promotional calendars, launches, and seasonal campaigns.
- Contribute to and coordinate social media amplification of key deals, themes, and campaigns as needed.
- Maintain high editorial and UX standards while working against tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of messaging, pricing, and imagery across assigned pages and placements.
- Document and iterate on merchandising best practices to improve workflow efficiency and campaign impact.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in digital marketing and/or web/mobile merchandising.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Experience working with content management systems and web-publishing tools.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated customer obsession and a strong understanding of online consumer behavior.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clear and persuasive customer messaging.
- Track record of executing successful merchandising campaigns, from brief to launch to post-mortem.
- Ability to read, interpret, and act on performance data to refine content and merchandising strategies.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and how to align them with site merchandising initiatives.
- High attention to detail, especially when reviewing copy, creative assets, pricing, and URLs.
- Comfort operating in a test-and-learn culture with frequent iterations and rapid experimentation.
