Job description

An innovative, high-growth consumer brand in the parenting space is hiring a Social Media & Content Manager who lives and breathes internet culture, has their phone within reach 24/7, and is obsessed with turning everyday moments into scroll-stopping content. This is a freelance position (40 hours a week) with potential to go fulltime for the right person.

This disruptive CPG brand operates at startup speed and is laser-focused on modern parenthood. The ideal candidate deeply understands the realities of today’s caregivers, brings a sharp, authentic, often playful lens to motherhood and caregiving, and can translate that into high-performing social content across platforms.

What You’ll Do

  • Own day-to-day content creation for social channels (Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms) — filming, editing, writing, and posting.
  • Develop and maintain an agile social content calendar focused on real-time trends, cultural moments, and community conversations.
  • Engage with the community in-platform: respond to comments/DMs, jump into conversations, and turn community insights into new content ideas.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Director and broader team on campaigns, launches, and brand storytelling across DTC and retail channels.
  • Identify and capitalize on trends, audios, memes, and formats that align with the brand’s voice and values.
  • Use performance data (views, engagement, saves, shares, CTR, etc.) to quickly iterate, test, and evolve content strategy.
  • Maintain brand voice and visual identity while still pushing creative boundaries and testing new approaches.

Who You Are

  • A hands-on, content creator who’s just as excited to shoot 10 TikToks in a day as you are to plan a monthly content roadmap.
  • Deeply fluent in social platforms (especially TikTok and Instagram) and internet culture — you know what’s trending now and what’s about to be.
  • Experienced in fast-paced, disruptive environments — ideally in CPG or high-growth DTC/retail brands
  • Data-informed and experiment-driven: you move fast, test often, and aren’t precious about pivoting based on what works.
  • Self-directed and scrappy: you can concept, produce, and publish content independently, end to end.
  • Strong writer with a sharp, modern, conversational tone — especially for short-form captions, hooks, and scripts.
  • Deep familiarity with the realities, rhythms, and humor of day-to-day caregiving and family life, and an ability to turn those lived experiences into relatable, high-performing content.

Strong Plus

  • Previous experience marketing to parents, families, or women-focused communities.
  • Content examples that reflect an insider’s understanding of modern parenting culture, including the unfiltered, messy, and funny moments of raising kids.

Qualifications

  • 3–6+ years of experience in social media, content creation, or digital marketing, ideally for CPG, DTC, or disruptive consumer brands.
  • Proven track record of growing and engaging social communities through native, creator-style content.
  • Hands-on skills in short-form video production and editing (e.g., in-app tools, CapCut, Adobe tools, or similar).
  • Portfolio or social handles showcasing content you’ve personally created, preferably with examples targeting parents or lifestyle audiences.
  • Ability to work remotely, manage your own schedule, and collaborate fluidly with a distributed team.

If you’re a phone-obsessed social native who loves to create, experiment, and speak to parents in a real, unfiltered way, we’d love to see your work and links to content you’ve personally produced.
