Job description

Strategic Marketing & Business Manager to lead an established and growing marketing services program supporting private hearing-care practices across the U.S.

This is not a traditional marketing manager role. Think of it more like running a small internal marketing agency. You’ll lead the team, own the program’s annual plan and financial performance, oversee marketing services and operations, manage key partners and vendors, and help determine how the program evolves and grows.

The program is already established and successful. We are looking for someone who can build on that foundation, bring new ideas to the table, and help scale the program over the next several years.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 5–7 marketing professionals, with potential for continued team growth.
  • Own the program’s annual business and marketing plan and contribute to longer-term strategic planning.
  • Operate with a strong business-owner mindset, balancing customer needs, team resources, investments, budgets, and program profitability.
  • Develop business cases for additional resources, tools, services, and investments.
  • Help define and evolve the program’s value proposition and service offerings.
  • Oversee the marketing services delivered to private practices, ensuring strong execution, customer value, and consistent quality.
  • Use performance metrics and business results to identify opportunities and continuously improve the program.
  • Lead the introduction of new services and capabilities.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and ensure we are receiving strong performance and value from external partners.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Care, IT, and other teams in the U.S. and globally.
  • Improve processes, systems, technology integrations, and workflows that enable the team to operate efficiently.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, bringing forward ideas, opportunities, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Advocate for the team and program while maintaining a practical understanding of financial and organizational priorities.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal person is a well-rounded marketing and business leader rather than a highly specialized marketer.

You may come from an agency, small or midsized business, retail, healthcare, medical device, professional services, or another environment where you’ve had to wear multiple hats and think beyond a narrow marketing specialty.

You’ll likely be successful if you bring:

  • Approximately 7+ years of relevant marketing, agency, program, or business leadership experience.
  • Experience leading and developing people.
  • Strong business acumen and comfort working with budgets, financials, metrics, and business cases.
  • Experience with B2B and/or B2B2C marketing.
  • The ability to move between strategy and execution and understand how the pieces of a business work together.
  • An entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial mindset—you see opportunities, develop solutions, and take ownership.
  • Strong customer orientation and an understanding of how marketing can help small businesses grow.
  • Excellent relationship-building and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Experience managing multiple initiatives, vendors, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Comfort using data and performance metrics to make decisions.
  • Enough knowledge of digital marketing, CRM, e-commerce, marketing technology, and customer journeys to effectively lead the work—you do not need to be a cutting-edge digital marketing specialist.
  • Strong communication, judgment, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field.

Who This Role Could Be Great For

This opportunity could appeal to someone who has been running accounts or teams within an agency, leading marketing for a smaller organization, managing a broad marketing function, or operating in a role where marketing and business leadership overlap.

It could also be an interesting next chapter for a more experienced leader who is less concerned with title and wants to get closer to the work, lead a strong team, and have meaningful ownership over a growing business program.

Above all, we are looking for someone who is curious, hungry, commercially minded, collaborative, and eager to learn. You don’t need to check every box if you have the business instincts and leadership ability to grow into the opportunity.
