About the Role
A leading technology organization is seeking an experienced Usability Specialist to help build intuitive, efficient interfaces that empower users to manage and optimize their digital experiences. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in shaping user journeys through hands on research, lab based testing, and close collaboration with a highly cross functional product and design team.
What You’ll Do
- Document best practices and contribute to a comprehensive usability research toolkit.
- Promote user centered design principles across product, engineering, and design teams.
- Conduct a wide range of UX studies—usability tests, field studies, focus groups, surveys, heuristic reviews, contextual inquiry, task analysis, remote testing, card sorting, and more.
- Develop study plans, testing tasks, research materials, and success criteria for each initiative.
- Present usability findings and clearly communicate research based recommendations.
- Observe user sessions, synthesize insights, and ensure research-driven decisions are accurately implemented.
- Partner with designers to analyze and refine wireframes and mockups to enhance overall user experience.
What They’re Looking For
- Advanced degree in Cognitive/Experimental Psychology, HCI, Technical Communication, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years leading user research and formal usability studies.
- Strong experience with contextual inquiry, study planning, participant screening, and reporting.
- Ability to advocate for user centered design within technical and cross functional teams.
- Detail oriented, collaborative, and comfortable managing self directed work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
