As the VP of Retail, you will be the architect and engine behind a rapidly expanding store portfolio across the United States. This is a highly visible, impact-heavy role reporting directly to the CEO, where you will shape the long-term retail vision, build a high-performance retail organization from the ground up, and own the playbook for outstanding in-store experiences that match a beloved, high-growth direct-to-consumer brand.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute a bold, long-term retail strategy that supports aggressive store growth and nationwide expansion.
  • Own performance across all retail locations—driving sales, profitability, labor efficiency, and a consistently exceptional customer experience.
  • Build scalable retail operating models, systems, and processes designed for rapid growth and operational excellence.
  • Lead site selection strategy and expansion planning in partnership with executive leadership and the development team.
  • Establish clear performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting frameworks that give real-time insight and power confident decision-making.
  • Partner closely with Finance on forecasting, budgeting, and investment planning to fuel smart, sustainable retail growth.
  • Recruit, develop, and inspire a high-performing retail leadership team capable of scaling a national footprint.
  • Champion a best-in-class in-store customer experience that reflects the brand’s commitment to comfort, quality, and innovation.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, Product, and Merchandising to ensure retail initiatives are fully aligned with the broader brand and business strategy.
  • Identify new retail opportunities, strategic partnerships, and business development initiatives that accelerate growth.
  • Create and roll out operational excellence standards, including staffing models, training frameworks, and performance expectations across all stores.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as needed in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.

What You Bring

  • 8–12+ years of progressive retail leadership experience, ideally with a high-growth or nationally recognized consumer brand.
  • A proven track record of scaling multi-unit retail operations and delivering measurable improvements in sales, profitability, and customer experience.
  • Strong strategic and financial acumen, including experience managing P&Ls and guiding expansion investments.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to build, mentor, and retain high-performing teams.
  • A data-driven mindset, with the ability to translate insights into clear, decisive action at the store and portfolio level.
  • Deep understanding of retail operations, customer experience design, and the key drivers of store performance.
  • Experience with retail expansion, site selection, and market entry strategy strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent experience is a plus.
