Women’s Streetwear Designer (Wovens/Knits)
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA (On-site, Full-Time)
We are seeking a mid- level Women’s Streetwear Designer to help build and grow a young women’s streetwear apparel line. This role focuses on both wovens and cut-and-sew knits across tops and bottoms, with a strong emphasis on graphics, prints, and a bold, trend-driven point of view.
What You’ll Do
- Design seasonal collections for young women’s streetwear across wovens and knits, including tops, bottoms, and sets.
- Develop concepts from mood and trend research through to final tech packs and production-ready handoffs.
- Research and analyze current streetwear trends, silhouettes, washes, fabrics, and styling; present findings and direction to the broader team.
- Work closely with merchandising to build cohesive, commercial, and on-brand assortments.
- In Adobe Illustrator, create detailed flat sketches and design new bodies with accurate construction and finishing details.
- Work extensively with prints and graphics in Illustrator and Photoshop: research visual direction, help brief artwork, recolor and edit art, scale and place graphics on garments, and build allover prints and placements.
- Partner with graphic designers to develop new artwork and print stories that align with the brand’s streetwear aesthetic.
- Create complete tech packs and BOMs with precise specifications, measurements, construction details, and artwork callouts.
- Communicate daily with cross-functional partners, including production, merchandising, vendors, factories, and freelancers, to move styles from concept through sampling and into production.
- Own SMU (special make-up) projects and create line sheets and presentation materials as needed.
- Participate in fittings and contribute to achieving consistent, high-quality fit and construction.
- Perform additional design and development tasks as needed to support the collection calendar.
Who You Are
- A creative, streetwear-obsessed designer with a strong grasp of young women’s trends and culture.
- A team player with a positive, “can-do” attitude who’s comfortable taking direction and also bringing fresh ideas to the table.
- Highly organized with sharp attention to detail and timelines.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, in-person environment and juggling multiple seasons and projects at once.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of apparel design experience, ideally in young women’s, streetwear, and/or juniors.
- Deep knowledge of fabrics, materials, garment construction, and fit for both wovens and knits.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; strong Excel skills.
- Demonstrated experience working with prints and graphics: direction, editing, recoloring, scaling, placement, and pitching concepts.
- Experience building detailed tech packs and BOMs and following styles from concept through production.
- Experience using AI tools to support trend, print, or design development is a plus.
- Portfolio or website showcasing relevant women’s streetwear work is required.
- Must be able to work on-site in Downtown Los Angeles; local candidates only.
