Account Executive
Seeking an experienced Account Executive to lead and grow key wholesale business across major retail accounts, with a strong emphasis on Nordstrom private label, as well as selected Ross and Burlington business. This role is ideal for someone with strong existing relationships, deep product knowledge, and the ability to translate trend direction into compelling assortments that resonate with retail partners.
The right candidate brings a strong background in sales, styling, merchandising, or product development within apparel, along with the credibility and presence to build trust with buyers and merchants. This is not a traditional line-selling role. The opportunity requires someone who understands how to curate product, present with confidence, and develop business through a combination of market insight, product instinct, and relationship management.
Key Areas of Focus
- Manage and grow relationships with Nordstrom and other key retail accounts
- Leverage strong buyer and merchant relationships to drive new and repeat business
- Curate product assortments based on trend direction, customer needs, and account strategy
- Partner closely with design and development teams to bring the right product to market
- Lead presentations that combine styling vision, commercial relevance, and product opportunity
- Drive the sales process from concept through delivery, including follow-through and account analysis
Responsibilities
- Own and expand a portfolio of wholesale accounts, serving as the primary contact for buyers and merchant teams
- Build on existing Nordstrom relationships and develop strong partnerships across additional retail channels
- Interpret trend decks and market direction to curate relevant product stories and assortments
- Present product with a strong styling point of view and clear understanding of the customer
- Collaborate with design, merchandising, sourcing, and production teams to ensure alignment from development through delivery
- Guide private label product development, including concept review, costing, fit, and execution
- Monitor timelines and proactively communicate on production, delivery, and business opportunities
- Analyze selling performance, identify reorder potential, and support long-term account growth
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in wholesale sales, account management, merchandising, styling, or product development within apparel
- Strong relationships with Nordstrom buyers or merchant teams highly preferred
- Proven sales experience with the ability to grow accounts and build lasting retail partnerships
- Strong styling eye and the ability to curate product into trend-right, customer-relevant assortments
- Deep product experience, including knowledge of apparel development from concept through final delivery
- Understanding of private label business and the full product lifecycle
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to sell both creatively and commercially
- Experience working cross-functionally with design, development, sourcing, and operations teams
- Commercially driven, organized, and confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
