Overview
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Graphic Designer to support a fast-paced apparel and consumer products design organization. This freelance opportunity focuses on production-ready graphic design work across multiple product categories, partnering closely with creative, development, and production teams.
Location & Schedule
- Hybrid schedule based in the Portland, Oregon area
- Onsite collaboration required during the week, with remote flexibility on Fridays
- Local candidates are preferred; relocation assistance is not available
Contract Details
- Approximately three months in duration
- Backfill opportunity supporting an established design team
Responsibilities
- Create, update, and maintain apparel, trim, and screenprint schematics.
- Produce accurate, production-ready artwork for apparel and related product lines.
- Support design production across multiple seasonal and product-focused initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure artwork meets technical, creative, and production requirements.
- Organize files, manage multiple deliverables, and maintain strong version-control practices.
- Identify team needs proactively and provide reliable day-to-day production design support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience developing apparel, trim, and screenprint schematics.
- Background in graphic design with direct apparel design or production experience.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a broader creative team.
- A portfolio demonstrating relevant apparel, production, and graphic design work is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with 3D apparel design software, such as CLO.
- Experience supporting high-volume consumer product, apparel, or retail design teams.
