Client: Nike | Employment Type: Freelance | Location: Beaverton, OR (PHK)

Contract Dates: August 3, 2026 – May 30, 2027 | Schedule: Part-time, 16 hours per week (two 8-hour on-campus shifts)

About the Role

Nike is seeking a detail-oriented Operations Manager to support the day-to-day stewardship, organization, preservation, and accessibility of its physical and digital archival collections. This freelance role partners with the Nike Archives team to help protect and activate the company’s product, corporate, and cultural history.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in archives, collections management, metadata, and digital asset workflows. You will help maintain accurate collection records, improve operational consistency, and support high standards for preservation, access, and data governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the organization, preservation, and accessibility of physical and digital archival collections.
  • Coordinate archival processing activities, including inventories, arrangement, description, and metadata updates.
  • Maintain accurate records in archival databases, collection management systems, and digital asset management platforms.
  • Help improve collection workflows, documentation standards, and operational procedures.
  • Contribute to data governance, preservation planning, and archival policy development.
  • Ensure materials are stored, handled, tracked, and documented in alignment with professional archival standards.
  • Partner with Nike Archives and cross-functional stakeholders to facilitate access to historical, product, and corporate materials.
  • Handle and relocate archival materials and storage containers weighing up to 30 pounds.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Archival Studies, Library Science, History, Museum Studies, Information Science, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in archives, records management, museums, special collections, or a comparable environment.
  • Experience managing both physical and digital collections.
  • Experience with archival databases, collection management systems, and digital asset management tools.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage collection-related work independently.
  • Ability to work effectively in archival storage environments that may include dust or other allergens.
  • Ability to work two on-campus shifts per week in Beaverton, Oregon.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience with MuseumPlus or similar collection management and digital asset management platforms.
  • Experience developing archival policies, procedures, metadata standards, or preservation plans.
  • Experience supporting apparel, footwear, consumer product, brand heritage, or corporate archive collections.
  • Previous experience working with Nike or a similarly complex global brand environment.
