Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to help lead a specialty retail store in Lahaina. This role partners closely with the Store Manager to foster a positive team culture, deliver outstanding customer service, support daily operations, and drive overall sales performance.
The ideal candidate brings a background in retail leadership, a customer-first approach, and a strong eye for merchandising and store presentation. Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service through personalized assistance, strong product knowledge, and timely issue resolution.
- Lead the sales floor during assigned shifts by modeling effective selling behaviors and coaching associates in real time.
- Support the achievement of store sales goals by monitoring performance and driving results across key metrics such as sales, conversion, average order value, and units per transaction.
- Gather customer feedback and share insights with store leadership to enhance the overall shopping experience.
- Coach and develop team members on product knowledge, customer engagement, and selling techniques.
- Maintain visual merchandising, promotional displays, replenishment, and overall store presentation in alignment with store standards.
- Partner with the Store Manager to execute business priorities and support sales, operational, and customer experience initiatives.
- Help ensure operational excellence through inventory accuracy, replenishment, cycle counts, shipment processing, and policy compliance.
- Assist with stockroom organization and loss prevention practices to maintain a well-presented and efficient selling environment.
- Review store performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity, customer satisfaction, and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of retail experience required.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a retail environment preferred.
- Experience in specialty, boutique, luxury, gift, home, or visually driven retail environments is strongly preferred.
- Strong eye for visual merchandising and detail-oriented execution.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both customers and team members.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- High level of ownership, accountability, and follow-through.
- Comfort using iPads, basic computer systems, and data entry tools; Microsoft Office experience is a plus.
- Flexible and willing to support additional duties as business needs evolve.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work onsite for all scheduled shifts.
- May assist with assembling and disassembling seasonal displays and décor.
- Must be able to lift and/or move items weighing up to 40 pounds.
