Job Title: Construction Project Support Specialist – CONTRACT – Hybrid in Bloomington
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized Construction Project Support Specialist to provide administrative and project coordination support to a fast-paced construction and labor planning team. This is a hybrid, office-based role that supports multiple Construction Project Managers who are often traveling extensively. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing documentation, issue tracking, scheduling follow-up, and communication across internal teams, vendors, and general contractors.
Work Schedule
- Hybrid schedule
- Onsite Tuesday through Thursday
- Remote Monday and Friday
- Additional onsite flexibility may be needed on occasion
Assignment Length
- Initial contract expected to last 4 to 6 months
- Project work is anticipated through October, with possible extension into November for closeout support
Key Responsibilities
- Manage incoming issues and questions through PTI logs, ensuring items are documented, routed, tracked, and followed through to resolution
- Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and general contractors to support project progress and resolve open items
- Arrange and track return visits with general contractors as needed
- Review invoices and change orders for accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance before routing for approval
- Support schedule follow-up and project status tracking
- Maintain contracts and project documentation in Procore or similar systems
- Provide day-to-day administrative and coordination support to Construction Project Managers
- Help keep project records, communications, and documentation organized and current
- Assist with revisit processes and other assigned project support activities
Qualifications
- Experience in a construction, facilities, or project-based support role preferred
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred, though candidates with strong related training or education will also be considered
- Experience with Procore or similar construction/project management software strongly preferred
- Ability to review project documents such as drawings, cut sheets, and related materials is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and OneNote
- Strong attention to detail and ability to review documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional, customer-focused, and proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-moving team environment
Preferred Background
- Construction industry experience is highly valued
- Recent graduates with relevant construction, trades, or project-based education may be considered
- Familiarity with reading construction plans is helpful, but not required
