Account Director – Freelance (Remote)

Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced freelance Account Director to lead client relationships, guide integrated marketing initiatives, and help grow a portfolio of accounts. This remote role combines strategic leadership, financial oversight, and day-to-day partnership with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional work and measurable business outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as a senior strategic partner for assigned clients, anticipating needs and building trusted long-term relationships.
- Lead the development and execution of integrated marketing, branding, and communications programs.
- Translate client objectives into clear briefs, scopes, timelines, and actionable plans for internal teams.
- Manage account budgets, project estimates, staffing needs, and timelines to support profitability and delivery targets.
- Partner closely with creative, strategy, media, and production teams to deliver high-quality work on time and on budget.
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships through proactive recommendations and value-added solutions.
- Lead client meetings, status calls, presentations, and project reviews with confidence and clarity.
- Monitor marketing trends, audience behavior, and channel innovations to bring relevant ideas to clients.
- Contribute to new-business efforts, including research, strategic input, proposal development, and presentation support.
- Maintain organized account documentation and communicate risks, decisions, and next steps across stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 5–7 years of advertising agency, marketing agency, or related client-services experience.
- At least 3 years of experience leading teams, managing client relationships, or overseeing complex projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets, scopes, schedules, and multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Working knowledge of digital and traditional marketing channels, including paid media, social, content, email, print, direct mail, television, radio, and point-of-sale communications.
- Strong understanding of performance marketing principles and a focus on driving meaningful client outcomes.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and client-facing communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.
- Highly organized, adaptable, proactive, and solutions-oriented.
- A commitment to thoughtful leadership, continuous learning, and delivering outstanding client service.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in relationship management, project management, process improvement, or agency operations.
- Experience supporting new-business pitches or account-growth initiatives.
