Freelance Inventory Planning Assistant
Luxury apparel and accessories brand based in New York is seeking an organized, analytical Inventory Planning Support professional to help optimize inventory visibility, allocation, and reporting across retail locations. This freelance opportunity is ideal for someone who is highly proficient in Excel, comfortable working with retail data, and able to communicate clearly with cross-functional commercial teams.
What You’ll Do
- Support inventory planning and consolidation activities across assigned retail channels.
- Partner with stores and commercial leaders to communicate local inventory levels, priorities, and opportunities.
- Assist with inventory allocation decisions based on store events, selling trends, and market needs.
- Prepare and maintain weekly and monthly sales reports for planning and business stakeholders.
- Compile, validate, and format inventory and sales data for analysis and leadership review.
- Help identify data discrepancies, inventory risks, and replenishment opportunities.
- Maintain clear documentation and support timely follow-up on planning-related requests.
Qualifications
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, data aggregation, and presentation-ready formatting.
- Working knowledge of retail math and inventory planning concepts.
- Strong analytical skills with close attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Previous experience supporting retail, luxury, merchandising, planning, or allocation teams is preferred.
