Freelance Raw Materials Coordinator

Position Overview: Popular heritage brand is seeking a detail-oriented Freelance Coordinator to support raw material sourcing and development for Intimates fabric categories. This temporary role will partner closely with design, product development, production, merchants, and external suppliers to deliver trend-right materials that meet quality, cost, timing, and performance expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Source and develop brand-appropriate, trend-right fabrics and materials for Aerie Intimates categories.
  • Review supplier seasonal collections, identify materials aligned to product needs, and present options to the design team.
  • Coordinate development of in-house-designed materials and ensure supplier submissions are received and approved on schedule.
  • Maintain daily communication with suppliers and cross-functional partners, escalating risks or timeline issues as needed.
  • Support seasonal development calendars, milestone meetings, fabric approvals, and sample execution.
  • Collect testing documentation and confirm materials meet industry and client quality standards.
  • Partner with product development and production teams on pricing, minimum order quantities, cost engineering, and re-sourcing opportunities.
  • Maintain material profile sheets, development charts, PLM updates, and physical and digital fabric libraries.
  • Research material trends, innovation, and supplier capabilities to support category strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Textiles, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant raw materials, fabric development, sourcing, product development, or production experience.
  • Experience with intimates, lace, or comparable fabric categories preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and internet-based research tools.
  • Experience with PLM and Miro is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project-management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Comfort collaborating in person with cross-functional partners and external vendors.
