Freelance- Sweater Technical Designer- Onsite New York

A fashion brand is looking for a Sweater Technical Designer, this is a part-time freelance role, onsite in New York.

About the Role
This role will support licensed sweaters, focusing on technical development, fit, and communication with factories. The ideal candidate is confident working independently and has strong experience in specs, grading, and sweater construction.

Key Responsibilities
• Own technical development for sweater category
• Create and manage specs using Excel-based tech packs
• Conduct fittings and execute fit corrections
• Handle grading and ensure production accuracy
• Communicate directly with factories via email
• Work independently while maintaining timelines and quality

Qualifications
• 5+ years of Technical Design experience (sweaters preferred)
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, and grading
• Experience working with licensed product is a plus
• Proficiency in Excel for tech packs
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Additional Details
• Schedule: 10:30am–6:00pm, 2 days/week (Tues/Thurs preferred, flexible)
• Immediate need due to team transition
