Overview
We are seeking an HRIS Workday Tech Specialist to support a growing HR systems environment across the U.S. and Canada. This role will provide hands-on support for Workday and related HR applications, with a particular focus on Workday Compensation, Payroll, and Time Tracking.
The specialist will also support Varicent, a commission-calculation platform. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR technology professional who combines systems support, data analysis, and strong business partnership skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2 operational support for Workday, including HCM, Payroll, Time Tracking, security, data integrity, issue resolution, and user support.
- Support North America-specific Workday processes and integrations with SAP and other enterprise systems.
- Help manage tickets, investigate system issues, communicate with users, and escalate global configuration matters to the L3 HRIS team when appropriate.
- Support the Varicent commission platform, including data review, rule-based calculations, troubleshooting, testing, and reporting.
- Partner with HR, Payroll, IT, HR Operations, Information Security, Analytics, and global HRIS teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Assist with testing system updates, enhancements, integrations, and new functionality across HR systems.
- Review inbound and outbound data feeds, validate data quality, and support resolution of integration-related issues.
- Maintain technical and user documentation, training materials, and process communications.
- Contribute to HR technology projects, continuous-improvement initiatives, and expansion of the commission platform into additional countries.
- Translate business requirements—particularly around compensation and commissions—into structured system and data solutions.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience supporting HR technology, HRIS, payroll systems, or related enterprise applications.
- Hands-on Workday experience is strongly preferred, especially with HCM and Payroll; Time Tracking experience is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting a meaningful portion of the Workday ecosystem; deep expertise in every module is not required.
- Basic SQL skills, including the ability to review data, work with tables, and troubleshoot data-related issues.
- Understanding of system integrations, including how data moves between HR, payroll, and other enterprise platforms.
- Comfort working with rule-based processes, data structures, calculations, and operational workflows.
- Knowledge of compensation, commissions, retail incentives, or sales-performance management tools is a plus.
- Experience with Varicent Cognos ICM, Anaplan, Xactly, or similar commission platforms is a plus, but not required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing requests, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
