Junior Photo Art Director, Freelance
About the Role
Fashion and Lifestyle Brand is seeking a hands-on Junior Photo Art Director to support the creation of elevated e-commerce and editorial photo content. This role partners closely with photo, video, studio production, styling, post-production, merchandising, marketing, and social teams to bring established creative direction to life.
You’ll help develop organized shoot plans, visual references, decks, shot lists, polished final assets, and consistent creative guidelines across PDP, ghost mannequin, still life, and other photography needs.
What You’ll Do
- Build detailed shot lists for PDP, ghost mannequin, still life, fabric-detail, and related photo content.
- Create visual decks, mood boards, and references for posing, glam, product, lighting, and creative direction.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate product priorities into actionable shoot plans.
- Create final PDP crops and product-set or bundle comps while maintaining consistent framing and brand standards.
- Review imagery, prepare first-pass retouching notes, and flag continuity, styling, color, and image-quality concerns.
- Organize assets and collaborate with post-production and digital asset teams to move work efficiently through review.
- Maintain photo guidelines and help translate visual standards into clear executional direction.
- Support studio shoots and shadow senior creative leadership on set.
- Assist with casting submissions, talent imagery, social-content needs, and other creative projects as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
- 2–4 years of experience in photo, art direction, creative, e-commerce, or content-focused work.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating visual taste, image-making experience, and an understanding of fashion photography.
- Knowledge of e-commerce photography, including posing, lighting, glam, styling, cropping, and product presentation.
- Experience supporting shoots from pre-production through final asset delivery.
- Experience creating shot lists, mood boards, creative decks, or visual pre-production materials.
- Comfort reviewing imagery and giving thoughtful feedback on retouching, composition, continuity, and styling.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite—especially Photoshop—or comparable creative presentation tools.
- Capture One experience is preferred.
- Strong organization, communication, collaboration, and ability to manage detail-oriented work across multiple deadlines.
- A genuine interest in fashion, beauty, culture, photography, and visual storytelling.
