Job Title: LOA Manager

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: Santa Fe Springs, CA

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Leave of Absence Manager to oversee and administer employee leave programs, including FMLA, long-term disability, military leave, personal leave, and other company-supported leave types. This role serves as a key resource for employees and HR, ensuring leave processes are handled efficiently, consistently, and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, long-term disability, military leave, personal leave, and related programs.
  • Ensure leave requests are processed accurately and within required timelines.
  • Partner with HR to provide guidance on leave policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Address employee concerns with empathy, consistency, and confidentiality.
  • Maintain accurate records of leave requests, approvals, and related documentation.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable leave laws and company policy.
  • Track leave trends, duration, leave types, and return-to-work status for leadership reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance the employee experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of leave of absence management experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and other leave-related laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on process improvement.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk and computer.
  • Occasional standing and walking through office or operational areas.

  • Occasional lifting of files, small equipment, or boxes up to 15 pounds.
