We are seeking a hands-on Pre-Production Manager to lead pre-production operations for an apparel business with both private label and branded programs. This person will oversee technical and workflow coordination across patternmaking, sewing, cutting, trims, fittings, and quality approval, while partnering with production teams and ensuring readiness from development through execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee pre-production workflow across cutters, sewers, patternmakers, and related technical teams
- Lead and support a team of approximately 25–27 employees
- Review and help correct sewing, pattern, and spec issues as needed
- Coordinate trim approvals and partner with trim buyers and offshore production teams
- Support fitting preparation, schedule models, and participate in fittings
- Maintain quality control standards and approve product readiness before production
- Serve as a key liaison between internal teams and external production partners
- Help drive organization, timelines, and execution for a fast-moving apparel environment
Qualifications
- Several years of production, patternmaking, or related pre-production experience in apparel
- Strong knowledge of sewing, garment construction, patterns, and specs
- Experience overseeing technical production teams and managing workflow
- Background in private label apparel is strongly preferred
- Comfort working cross-functionally with trims, fittings, and quality processes
- Able to work onsite five days per week in Los Angeles
- Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach
