The Retail Store Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of a high-performing retail location, blending operational excellence with an elevated, hospitality-driven customer experience. This role leads by example to create a welcoming environment where customers feel seen, supported, and inspired, while driving sales performance and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Model warm, attentive, and pressure-free customer service at all times.
- Create and maintain a store environment that reflects creativity, inclusivity, joy, and empowerment.
- Engage customers through storytelling, product knowledge, and genuine connection.
- Ensure every customer leaves feeling appreciated and eager to return.
- Oversee daily store operations, including opening/closing procedures, scheduling, and sales floor coverage.
- Lead sales execution and merchandising in alignment with company standards.
- Manage controllable P&L elements such as payroll, supplies, and shrink.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, safety, and compliance.
- Supervise back-of-house operations including inventory flow, receiving, packaging, and quality control.
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing retail team.
- Foster a culture of belonging, development, accountability, and recognition.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and regular 1:1 meetings focused on performance and growth.
- Develop succession plans and a talent pipeline for future leadership roles.
- Lead team huddles and service trainings to reinforce goals and service standards.
- Communicate store performance, customer feedback, and staffing needs to leadership.
- Execute brand visual guidelines and seasonal merchandising updates.
- Ensure product presentation and store layout support both storytelling and sales goals.
- Support in-store events and community-focused activations as needed.
- Serve as a visible, confident leader on the sales floor with polished, professional presence.
- Set the tone for hospitality-forward service that is empathetic, intuitive, and customer-centric.
- Maintain high visual and cultural standards for team appearance, store ambiance, and communication.
- Protect and enhance the emotional impact of the brand experience for every guest.
Requirements
- 3+ years of retail management experience, preferably in fashion, accessories, or lifestyle retail.
- Demonstrated success in building strong teams and delivering exceptional customer service.
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
- Proficiency with POS systems, timekeeping, inventory software, and Google Workspace or similar tools.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
