Senior Director of Retail

Full-Time | Fully Remote | Up to 50% Travel
We’re partnering with a fast-growing lifestyle brand to find a Senior Director of Retail who will lead the launch and long-term scale of its retail store footprint.
If you are a proven retail leader with deep experience in store openings, multi-site management, operational excellence, and cross-functional partnership, this role offers the chance to make a significant impact in a high-growth environment.
What You’ll Do

  • Lead the end-to-end retail lifecycle, from market planning and store development through operational execution and scale
  • Partner cross-functionally on-site selection, construction, store design, and opening readiness
  • Develop new-store opening playbooks, processes, and timelines for consistent expansion
  • Build and implement operational strategies that support growth, profitability, and customer experience excellence
  • Oversee performance across retail locations, ensuring alignment with policies, standards, and brand expectations
  • Create and develop field leadership structures, including regional and district-level management
  • Partner with People teams on hiring, onboarding, workforce planning, training, and succession planning
  • Manage budgets, labor planning, operating expenses, and overall store P&L performance
  • Use sales, customer, and operational data to inform business decisions and improve outcomes
  • Collaborate closely with merchandising, supply chain, marketing, finance, technology, and customer experience teams

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of direct retail experience, including store-level leadership and progression into multi-site management
  • Strong experience leading retail initiatives from concept through store opening and ongoing operations
  • Experience partnering across functions including People, Merchandising, Demand Planning/Allocation, Marketing, and Finance
  • Knowledge of site selection, customer demographics, and the broader U.S. retail market
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, proformas, ROI analysis, and P&L oversight
  • Familiarity with retail systems including POS, workforce management, inventory, and operational tools
  • Based in the U.S. and able to travel up to 50% – preference for East Coast based candidates
