Job description

Location: In-Office, 5 Days a Week – Downtown LA

We are seeking a Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager to lead the strategy and execution of customer retention and engagement initiatives for a growing consumer brand. This role will own the development of a sophisticated lifecycle program across email, SMS, loyalty, and emerging owned channels, with a focus on strengthening customer relationships and driving measurable revenue growth.
The ideal candidate is equal parts strategic thinker and hands-on operator—someone who can develop a long-term lifecycle vision while also getting into the details of campaign execution, testing, segmentation, and optimization. This person will have significant ownership over the customer journey and will use data, experimentation, and customer insights to continuously improve performance.

Key Responsibilities

Lifecycle Strategy & Customer Retention

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive lifecycle strategy spanning acquisition through retention and re-engagement.
  • Own key performance metrics including repeat purchase, customer lifetime value, retention, conversion, and lifecycle revenue.
  • Identify opportunities to increase customer value through segmentation, personalization, cross-sell, and product recommendations.
  • Work closely with acquisition and paid media teams to create a seamless transition from first purchase through ongoing customer engagement.
  • Partner with leadership to develop and expand the brand’s loyalty strategy, including program structure, benefits, engagement, and rollout.

Customer Journey & Personalization

  • Map and optimize the customer journey, identifying opportunities to improve engagement, conversion, retention, and overall customer experience.
  • Develop sophisticated audience segmentation and targeting strategies based on customer behavior, purchase history, engagement, and value.
  • Build and optimize automated journeys designed to welcome new customers, encourage repeat purchases, reactivate lapsed customers, and deepen relationships with high-value audiences.
  • Continuously evaluate existing programs and identify opportunities for new lifecycle experiences.

Campaign Management & Optimization

  • Own the email and SMS marketing calendar from planning through deployment.
  • Build, QA, segment, and launch campaigns directly within Klaviyo.
  • Establish a structured experimentation program across messaging, creative, offers, timing, segmentation, and customer journeys.
  • Develop test hypotheses, analyze results, document learnings, and translate insights into future strategy.
  • Monitor channel performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve engagement and revenue.

Creative & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Develop thoughtful creative briefs that translate marketing objectives and customer insights into clear direction for creative partners.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Creative, Ecommerce, Analytics, and other cross-functional teams to ensure lifecycle initiatives support broader business priorities.
  • Bring a strong creative point of view while remaining grounded in customer data and commercial performance.
  • Help establish best practices and scalable processes as the lifecycle program continues to mature.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in lifecycle, CRM, retention, email/SMS, or growth marketing, ideally within a DTC or consumer brand.
  • Proven experience owning lifecycle strategy and delivering measurable improvements in retention, repeat purchase, and revenue.
  • Hands-on expertise with Klaviyo and email/SMS campaign execution.
  • Strong understanding of segmentation, personalization, customer journeys, and lifecycle automation.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing A/B testing and experimentation programs.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate customer and performance data into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent creative instincts and the ability to develop strong briefs and collaborate effectively with creative teams.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the confidence to take ownership, challenge existing approaches, and identify new opportunities.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where priorities can evolve quickly.
  • Strong communicator who can effectively partner with both strategic leaders and hands-on execution teams.
