Our healthcare client is seeking an experienced Sr. Change Communications Consultant to support a large-scale enterprise effort focused on helping colleagues prepare for and adopt evolving workflows, technology, and operational changes. This anticipated engagement is expected to begin pending final budget approval and may extend up to two years through successive six-month contract periods.
The consultant will serve as a strategic communications partner to project leaders, sponsors, operational teams, and change-management stakeholders. This role combines high-level advisory work with hands-on development of clear, timely, and actionable communications for diverse internal audiences.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute integrated change communications strategies supporting the Epic Refuel initiative.
- Partner with project leadership, sponsors, change-management teams, communications leaders, and operational stakeholders to align messaging, timing, and delivery channels.
- Assess audience needs, communication risks, dependencies, and readiness gaps across impacted teams.
- Create communication plans, editorial calendars, stakeholder-review processes, and distribution approaches that support adoption and engagement.
- Translate complex program updates, system changes, and operational impacts into concise, audience-appropriate messages.
- Write, edit, and coordinate internal communications across channels such as email, intranet content, leader toolkits, presentations, FAQs, talking points, and employee-facing resources.
- Provide strategic counsel on message development, communication sequencing, channel selection, and stakeholder engagement.
- Coordinate day-to-day content development, reviews, approvals, and delivery with multiple project workstreams and stakeholder groups.
- Support evolving communication needs for Care Group, clinic, hospital-based, and other employee audiences as the initiative progresses.
- Maintain an enterprise perspective while responding quickly to project-level needs, changing priorities, and emerging risks.
What You’ll Bring
- 7+ years of experience in internal communications, change communications, organizational change management, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated success supporting large-scale business, operational, workforce, clinical, or technology transformation initiatives.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and message-development skills, including the ability to make complex information clear and actionable.
- Experience partnering with executive leaders, program and project-management teams, operational leaders, and change-management professionals.
- Strong strategic judgment and the confidence to recommend communication approaches that align with organizational goals and adoption priorities.
- Ability to independently manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, and stakeholder groups in a fast-paced environment.
- Healthcare experience strongly preferred; familiarity with Epic-related initiatives is a significant advantage.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project/workflow tools such as Workfront; experience with WordPress or comparable content-management systems is helpful.
